The Drivers
Driver: Emily Anderson
Out-going, charismatic and honest, Emily Anderson lives an active life in Seattle working full time as an event manager for a major event company. Emily is the kind of person who is game for anything…

When her father, Richard Anderson, brought her the idea for Alice’s Drive, she recognized it as an opportunity to explore women’s history and inspire women, no matter their age, race, creed or socio-economic background, to embrace their unique personal potential and to find support in order to achieve great things.

Admitting that she hasn’t quite grasped the sheer scope of the drive yet, Anderson is passionate about using her working knowledge and expertise to plan the major journey in front of her. Planning to involve women from around the country, Emily is building a platform and working toward aligning Alice’s Drive with a yet to be determined women’s foundation. She has traveled the entirety of the United States for her work and has witnessed 1000’s of people come together to celebrate life-changing fund-raising events. Emily is both excited and scared to tackle an event like Alice’s Drive. However, once she gets the engine started there’s no stopping her.
The Passengers
Ms. Ramsey carried three other women in the car on her journey across the U.S. The 1909 Maxwell DA is able to host three passengers in addition to the driver. One passenger will act as a co-pilot working with Emily to navigate the car over Alice’s tracks and to their chosen road trip destinations, this chosen one is Christie Catania. Christie and Emily met while working on an event in Bear Mountain, NY in 2001 and they have been friends ever since. Christie is an event professional and very excited to help support this unique, once in a lifetime adventure. She has canvassed the US several times for work and pleasure and attempts to travel to other countries whenever the chance arises.
When asked why she wanted to be involved in the journey, Christie responded:” Emily told me about the Alice Ramsey Centennial Drive in 2004. Since that night I have been enamored with the idea of being involved. My hope is that young girls across the country will be inspired by the journey and the drive will encourage young women to choose strong positive female role models. In addition, I am always up for a travel adventure, especially with, my girl, Emily”.
Christie has been working with Women for Women International to be the drive beneficiary and trying to procure sponsors to add a sustainable element to the drive. In the car she will act as the navigator and is excited to figure out what that really means.
