Documentary Update

Posted on Jul 20th, 2010 at 5:49 pm by Bengt

Hello everyone -

I’ve received numerous emails of late inquiring about the status of the documentary. First of all, thank you very much for your continued interest in Alice’s Drive. We are working very hard to put together a great film and a great experience, but must admit it is taking much longer than anticipated. As an independently produced documentary we must also work ‘day jobs’ in order to continue investing our time and money into this project…hence it is taking longer than if we had been a fully funded undertaking. Unfortunately, I do not have a date for completion yet.

To everyone who pre-ordered the film, thank you! We have put all of the purchase funds into an account that is not being touched until we can send you your copy. If at any point in time you would like to request your funds back by all means please let us know and we can send it back. My apologies for the project taking so long…that is, after all, the nature of working in a medium like film…there are many challenges but the end product is something we will be very proud of.

Thank you again for your continued support,

The Alice’s Drive Documentary Team

  1. I am excited about getting a copy of this film. I think this is an important subject to document and remember the great contribution women have made, and continue to make, in our history. I can appreciate the need to work a ‘day job’ while also giving time to your passion. Thank you for your dedication - can’t wait to see the final film!

  2. Do you guys accept donations? I think the community would be more than willing to help as many of us have an interest in this film beyond that of just viewers.

  3. Hello and thank you so much for your kind words of support - both in terms of understanding needing a ‘day job’ and in inquiring about donations to the film! That is truly spectacular. I have been working hard to figure out the best ways to go out and fundraise, but have needed to put more time into the editorial as well as day job. Ha! This is truly when one asks if there can be more hours in the day, right?

Regarding donations: yes! We do accept donations. I have a number of directions one can donate. We have a page on the aliceramsey.org site where the donation information can be found. For parties interested in donating and interested in getting a tax deduction the minimum amount our fiscal sponsor can write a receipt for is $250. For any and all donations I will gladly send along a special gift as I have a few prints of the Alice’s Drive painting.

For those who may be interested in investing in the film please contact me directly at media@aliceramsey.org. This is a much larger conversation and would be best served in conversation about the options.

Thanks again for everyone’s support. We are working hard to make this a film worth watching and learning from for generations to come.

  4. My father bought a 1909 Maxwell in the 1960s. When he died he left the vehicle to my brother. I am not sure if it is a touring car, it just has the Maxwell sign across the front. If I emailed a pictire of the car could someone identify it?

    Thanks.
