Supporting while we Drive!

Posted on May 10th, 2009 at 12:28 pm by Emily

The Alice Ramsey Team has chosen Women for Women International as the beneficiary of the Alice Ramsey Centennial Drive. When Alice Ramsey drove across America in 1909 she, unintentionally, participated in breaking down many social barriers. Alice was just one driven woman, among many, at that time in America who began laying the framework for women around the world to reach their true potential.

Women for Women International supports women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can build, and re-build, their lives. It is our sincere hope that by teaching people about Alice’s accomplishment we can continue to learn about people like her and foster the accomplishments of generations to come.

We are proud to drive for the women in the world who do not have the freedom, means, or eduction to do so. Make a donation to Women For Women International.

  2. Thanks for the note! If you take a look at the interactive map you’ll see a pretty good indication of what towns we will be in and what exact dates we are planning to be there. The only way we can really give exact information will be the day or two before we are headed that direction only b/c “anything can happen” and we may get delayed along the way.

Take a read of the map and let us know where and when you might be able to converge with us. If you click on the little icons the page will scroll down and give you dates and town names as well.

Thanks so much! I hope we can meet up on the road.
