Registration for the Tour

Posted on Jan 25th, 2009 at 1:42 pm by admin

Many people have expressed an interest in driving along with the 1909 Maxwell and women as this historic centennial recreates Alice’s 1909 trip. Some people would like to join us for just a few miles or a single day. These persons are welcome with the following requests: Please follow behind the Maxwell so as not to create traffic congestion for the women driving. Be careful of other traffic on the road and be sure to leave plenty of space for cars to pass you and get around all of us. We do not want to impede traffic or cause any problems along the way. All “old” cars are welcome, but we especially encourage brass era cars to come out.

There are some people who have expressed an interest in driving the entire trip along with us. Because of the enormity of planning a trip such as this we will need all persons who will be doing the entire journey to register with us. Registration will give us the necessary data we need to complete various permits applications required and give our various hosting groups a specific number of people and cars to plan on when we have a scheduled lunch, dinner or gala event. There are a multitude of other benefits that will be available to registrants including roadside assistance to transport a non-working car to a repair shop. All registrants will have to make their own lodging reservations, transport their own luggage, tools, etc. and provide for many of their own meals. Registration will also provide you with the itinerary for hotel reservations and a daily route map for each individual days travel.

To request a registration packet please email the registrar at: AliceRamsey@live.com and send your name, address, email address, phone numbers, year and make of car and names of passengers. Registration packets will be mailed out in the second half of February. If you plan to only drive with us through a couple of states, or for a week or two, send for a registration packet also.
