The Schoharie Valley Region of the AACA is getting excited about sponsoring/participating in a tiny segment of Alice's Tour. Many of our members look forward to following the tour in their old cars for a day or so. A few old cars will head south from the Albany area to meet the tour near Catskill, NY on 6/09 and head northwest to Cobleskill, your first overnight stop. Others will join you for the following day(s). We will need coordination on that day, but I see that the website is expanding capabilities to do this.

Have you thought of a paper/plastic/cloth banner to temporarily affix to trailing vehicles as the AACA does on its tours? This could be advertisement enroute, a modest funds raiser and a keepsake for participants. I'm guessing that you would use magnetic signs for the permanent "trailers", another money maker. If it's not already done, someone will ahve to design the logo & words, get them made and in your store so that trailers could have theirs in advance.

My husband Ron and I helped support Tom Fetch when he drove Old Pacific cross country in 1983. I want to contribute to your venture and tentatively would want to spend a day in the car and follow for perhaps a week somewhere in the mid West (I live in Alabama). I own a 1909 Chase and a 1904 Cadillac, both under restoration at this time plus several Marmons. My logistics may get complicated but I think this can work. I am recently widowed and determined that my interest in and love of the vehicles will continue. Sally Barnett, Past President AACA Library & Research Center.

Hello!

I am so excited that you are taking on this adventure. I wish I could go! But the next best thing is living in Reno and hopefully I will be able to see you when you visit. I am a founding member of Historic Reno Preservation Society and perhaps we can do something for you. I will notify our webmaster about the event and have her link the site.

I am a road-history nut and am a member of the Lincoln Highway Association and the Society of Commercial Archeology. Plus, I am a member of the City of Reno Historic Resources Commission.

Thanks so much,
Cindy Ainsworth
